9/15/2022
Northwest Health – Porter recently honored Kendall Scheetz, CNA, who provides care on the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit. Scheetz, a certified nursing assistant, is the recipient of the PETALS award for outstanding support professionals.
Scheetz was nominated by a patient for her positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. The patient described her as cheerful, pleasant and a wonderful representation of Northwest Health and said her genuine care for her patients was obvious.
At Northwest Health, nursing assistants are an important member of the caregiving teams. They assist the nursing staff to implement each patient’s individualized care plan. They help respond to patients’ requests and help patients get timely answers to their questions. Scheetz’s nomination specifically mentioned her ability to help keep the patient informed and for making the patient feel very special.
Northwest Health Chief Executive Officer Ashley Dickinson expressed her gratitude for Scheetz’s dedication to her patients and her ability to exemplify the organizations calling: “compassionate caring.”
The PETALS award honors non-nursing professionals, like Scheetz, for their exceptional skills and support. PETALS award recipients may be nominated by patients, visitors and employees.
